JOURNEY OF A HEALER
I have been nudged to write on this for many weeks and I have just refused to look at it or even accept to write. There maybe my own reservations on writing about this as this is a sensitive topic and I feel it’s not right for me to be writing this by generalizing. It brings no justice to the myriad flow of healers and the diversity of each ones path. Nevertheless I have tried to keep it light and skirting through without hurting anyone’s sentiments.
Wow, many healers will nod their head in agreement as these are a few common statement we often hear. Rather insensitive statements can be used like
Just look at him / her how they behave
How can she / he be a healer
Being a healer you can’t behave like this
Is she/ he expensive
There can be a lot of statements that can be used. It is really embarrassing and awkward when such derogatory statements start floating about.
Healers too are normal human just like one and all. They have gone through so much pain, and healed themselves by allowing layer by layer to be peeled and healed. Only when one is healed can they become a healer helping people in similar situations. Being a healer is a tough job, as we have to be in a position to be a channel and not get caught in the story or drama.
Who is a healer?
H– Happily
E– Empowered
A – Achieves
L– Life goals
E– Energetically
R – Robust
A healer is a person who can happily be empowered to achieve life goals energetically being robust in nature.
Healers too have a right to their emotions and thoughts, just cause they are being receptive and open to do the required healing doesn’t give anyone a golden chance to talk or label them. At times while they are helping someone maybe some old scars open for them and after helping a client. They may go into hibernation as they need to work on themselves. A healer can only work when he/ she are disconnected and also are empowered. So one needs to respect and give them space to work in.
Healers have a right to have their own privacy, too at times just go into their own shell to introspect or take time off. We need to know they too have a life and family, we cannot invade into their space in unearthly hours or try to be commanding. Yes they are there to help, but everything has a time and place. They need to also let go of the day and do things what needs to be done for their own nurturing and help.
Shifting from one healer to another and then cribbing about them or making fun of them is of totally bad taste. Each healer have their own unique ways depending on what paths they have chosen. Their life experiences also plays a vital role to this. Moreover eventually healers too have a network and usually they get to know each other. So by chance some discussion and if a topic comes up and they suddenly get to know both are discussing the same person.
You have to be patient and wait for things to unfold, choose anyone who you are comfortable with. Now the most common question
Where you upset / angry?
No why should one get upset or angry!!
I found it humorous reason being that how people can’t trust one person and they jump from one person to another. An ethical and principled healer won’t mind it at all. If you don’t wish to continue getting healed by them they openly tell you can choose anyone else no issues. They know and understand that the energies are the same and it really doesn’t matter who does the healing as channels we are just to be of service for the highest good.
Yes healers do charge, there is nothing wrong with that they need to be acknowledged for the amount of time and energy that’s being put in for someone’s help. Blatantly stating that healers shouldn’t charge or what kind of healer charges are mean or distasteful statements.
Healing is a beautiful journey one can experience this and can only be facilitated by a healer when he/ she have gone through the deep cleansing and healing themself. The path a healer chooses is not easy and at times lonely and a dense path which has to be trudged by the healer.
Being a healer makes one more empathetic and this can be one of the critical reasons why healers are sensitive to everything around them. They may choose not to comment or at times they may actually bring out facts and put it on the table by being truthful not fearing anything.
Thanks to so many taboos and conditioning healers are viewed with all kind of perceptions. Though gradually there has been an acceptance
skepticism still lurks about. The beliefs and conditions are strong in our society that it’s not easily accepted. On western world healers too have become an important part of a persons life. Along with a nutritionist, doctor, lawyer there is a healer too
For eg :- I was on the other side clueless of healers and that world. Though I was intrigued and would often wonder, I had not seen myself as a healer. The conditioning and beliefs were deep rooted. When I eventually met my first teacher, I had a lot of questions it took time for me to let go of my old beliefs and build on new ones. My family took time to accept it, my sons thought I have lost it, today they know the kind of effort and work I put and they support me.
A healer is the one person who rattles cages and comfort zone for people to get out of there comfort zone and allow the healing to happen.
A healers job is to hold space for their healee so that they can peal their layers of wound and heal.
