Indecisiveness
Do you often face these phases of life where you feel uncertainty is creeping in? There are many situations where indecisiveness is slowly seeping in. What can one do to help themselves?
Being indecisive would really not be of any help or criteria as it will not help to resolve the issue or the situation. Life takes turns and twists especially when we are indecisive in nature. We may find it difficult to actually come out of the closet to accept and embrace the facts.
What is indecisiveness?
The point or stage where one is unable to take the right action or a step towards doing the rightful things. This inner conflict of unable to take the decision causes stress and makes one feel less confident. Decision-making skills are vital in every walk of life. People who make good decisions are generally perceived as wise and successful by society. Indecisiveness can make others doubt your abilities to take the right-full steps.
Why do we even reach a state where we get indecisive about our life or situation?
- Repeated Failures
- Patterns going on repeating
- Lack of confidence in self due to various reasons.
- Procrastination on life and everything around it.
- Resistance towards owning up and taking the right path.
- Belief system creating havoc in our space.
- Perceptions are all muddled due to past experiences.
- Holding onto the past or living in the past.
- Lack of self-esteem and respect.
- Insecurities streaming from various thoughts and beliefs.
- Trying to be a perfectionist and not achieving that can be very painful.
- Cluttered mind space which would slow down our thinking.
- Responsibility issues with taking the step forward.
- Anxiety issues especially with “what if”.
- Fear of rejection or humiliation.
- Influenced by others at times parental or peer pressure.
- Trying to please the world would put one in a difficult situation.
- Too many options can make it confusing.
Okay now that we know some reasons why we can be indecisive now let us see how to bring ourselves out of being indecisive.
- Take time to understand what’s going on.
- Be mindful of the emotions and how they are playing out.
- Try to work on yourself to start thinking strategically.
- Let go of the past as it is of no help to you.
- Learn from your mistakes and failures.
- No one is perfect and this is something to work on and understand.
- Reach out to a healer or a counselor and work on your confidence and respect issues.
- Do not allow yourself to fall under pressure.
- Try to understand who are you pleasing yourself or others.
- Introspect and don’t be hasty with decisions
- Notice what is the resistance for and work on those weak points.
- Work on balancing your emotions and be neutral with your choices.
- Express your fears and communicate openly about your thoughts.
- Seek support and help if need be there is nothing wrong with that.
There is no doubt that the past influences the present we should be cautious and aware of what is influencing us and how to work on the inner conflicts and issues. Failures are something, everyone faces over a period of time. It is about how resilient we can be with various setbacks and failures.
When we have a setback taking it easy and going slow is a good thing, but making it a habit to be indecisive is not something to fall back on. What would make us stronger and more confident in the way we can bounce back to doing what we wish to do without any hiccups.
The blame game and pointing fingers or just sitting and nagging that things are not going the way you want will take you nowhere. At times sitting and expecting others to work on it is also a pointless attitude. It’s your life and work journey to learn to take your own decisions.
Avoid sitting on the fence it won’t take you anywhere, be open go take the plunge no matter what.
Every destination has many paths, but just sitting and being reluctant is of no consequence.
