The 9 Day Journey of Connecting to the Divine Feminine.
- Goddess Brahmacharini
Om Devi Brahmacharinyai Namah॥
The name Brahmacharini is derived from two words – “Brahma” here means tapa or penance and “Charini” means an ardent female follower. On the second day of Navratri, we pray to the Goddess in the form of Goddess
Brahmacharini. She is seen as wearing a white sari and walking barefeet holding a rudraksha Japa mala and a kamandala. She is on the path to meditate and win her Lord’s blessings and consent. Goddess Brahmacharini is a Durga avatar which has power, devotion, and rock-solid determination at the core of her existence–some things that can work in your favour if used judiciously.
Let us now bring in the Shamanic view to this
Walking barefeet helps one
- to strengthen the immunity system
- helps one to ground self
- the acupressure points in the feet get activated
- brings in balance to mind body and soul
- Help us to bring a connection to self and focus on our goals
- can also help in improving sleep
- boosting energy levels
The benefits of a Rudraksha
Rudraksha is a seed that is used as a prayer bead in Hinduism, especially in Shaivism. The seeds are associated with the Hindu deity Shiva and are commonly worn for protection and for chanting mantras such as Om Namah Shivaya.
It has been found that the beads can send Bioelectric signals to the brain and stimulate and enhance the brain to create a positive impact on the activity of neurotransmitters and helps in maintaining a balance in the Dopamine and Serotonin levels. With the balance of these two biogenic amenities, there is a possibility of transformation in the personality, mindset, attitude, charisma, and also the confidence of the individual who is wearing a Rudraksha bead.
The Kamandal is carried by the Hindu Sages and it represents a simple and self-contained life. The water in a Kamandal represents a symbol of fertility, life, and wealth. The color white signifies purity, sincerity, truth.
Devotees worship Ma Brahmacharini on the second day of Navratra to provide them with the strength and determination. This avatar of Ma Durga teaches us the importance of penance, devotion, restraint, and solitude. It teaches that one should not abandon his or her duties when faced with adversity. By invoking Ma Brahmacharini we can seek virtue, peace, prosperity, happiness, and nobility within us and embrace the same.
Invoke this divine and beautiful energy within you and allow the teachings of the goddess to be reached out to one and all.
What to offer: Goddess Brahmacharini is offered sugar for the longevity of the family members.
The color associated with this day is white.
The mantra one can chant to connect and pray to her would be
Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Maa Brahmacharini Rupena Samsthita।
Namastasyai Namastasyai Namastasyai Namo Namah॥
And so it is 🙏
